Since 2007, the German Young Geomorphologists organize annual workshops in order to support networking amongst early career geomorphology enthusiasts. The meetings provide a platform for open discussions on a wide range of problems that might have emerged within a particular research project.

The meeting will provide an ideal opportunity to present your current work, to discuss problems and receive constructive feedback! We want to highlight our interest in solving problems that occur during the emprirical or writing period of your research.

Preliminary selection of events:

  • your BSc/MSc and PhD studies: oral, poster, or spotlight presentation and extensive discussions
  • keynote lecture by Tony Reimann (University of Cologne) on recent research and his scientific career
  • an optional workshop on Google Earth Engine hosted by Tobias Ullmann & Marius Philipp (University of Würzburg) on June 26th (see flyer for additional info)

We will use the platform Gather.town for a dynamic and informative, yet cheerful and entertaining event.

Please register and opt for one of the 3 formats to discuss your work with other Young Geomorphologists. Each contribution will be given 15 min. time and will be presented as a talk, digital poster or spotlight (5 min. short introduction of a problem you are facing, 10 mins. of “crowd-solving”).

Please register by 24.05.2021 using our registration form, so that we can organize the number of Gather.town licenses.

We would be happy if you have time to join the meeting and if we meet again this year at least online.

Please also feel free to register with our mailing list (email to jgtreffen@gmail.com) to receive updates on the meeting in June and on additional activities of the Young Geomorphologists!
